There’s too much noise.
Somewhere along the line everything got too loud.
I try to focus but all the other thoughts echo over what is really important.
The voices from tv.
The words on social media.
The people that think they know best.
All the things on the to-do list that scream for attention.
The agendas and itineraries.
And the sports.
All the thoughts….oh the multitude of thoughts!
The being everything to everybody.
All of these things scream for attention.
Bellowing loudly over the still and quiet whispers.
All the noise that keeps us from hearing the voice of God.
The whispers that in the grand scheme of things say these things don’t matter. They won’t.
They make the voice of God so small, so quiet.
Something that should be the loudest and most dominant gets muffled out in all the noise. We have to turn off the noise and tune into God.
God help me to hear your voice among all the other noise.
